Terms of Use

About
VocaBoba (formerly Voice Training) is provided by JoaTyyFerLyy, an individual in Singapore. By using it you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. Questions? Use the contact form.
Who can use it
You must be 13 or older. Anyone can view shared posts. You need to sign in to practise, post, heart or comment. If you're under 18, you can only share by private link and some community features are limited.
Not medical advice
Measurements are estimates, not a diagnosis or treatment. Stop if your voice hurts or feels strained, and see a qualified voice professional if discomfort or hoarseness lasts.
Your content
You own your recordings and posts. When you share a post, you let us show it on the site until you delete it. Only share what you have the right to share.
Please don't
- Share anyone else's voice, or pretend to be someone else.
- Harass, threaten or bully anyone, or post hateful, sexual or illegal content.
- Share personal information about others, or details that could put you at risk.
- Try to access other people's data, or misuse or disrupt the service.
Blocking, reporting and moderation
You can block anyone who comments on your posts, and report posts or profiles. Moderators may warn you, remove posts, or limit or ban your use of community features if you break these terms. Serious reports (such as threats, sexual content or sharing personal information) may lead to an immediate suspension while we review them. Your private practice and your data are not affected by community limits.
What you send to other people (posts, comments, coach–student chats and voice notes, tasks, notes, feedback, recordings you share and library items) is also checked automatically every few hours by the AI on our own server; recordings are turned into text first. Anything it flags goes to a moderator, who decides what to do; a flag on its own never hides anything or changes your account. See the privacy policy.
Appeals
If you think a decision was wrong, use the contact form and include the reference number shown with the decision.
Coaches and content creators
Coaches and content creators are independent people who apply and are approved by our moderators. Coaches share videos, exercises and programmes; content creators share their YouTube videos. They're not employed by or endorsed by VocaBoba, and we don't check their services or any business you do with them. If you're a coach or a content creator: New applications to be a coach or content creator need a Google sign-in.
Creator profiles added by the team. Some creator profiles are made by the VocaBoba team from a creator's public YouTube channel, and are marked "Added by VocaBoba · not run by" that creator. Those creators haven't joined VocaBoba and didn't publish, describe or approve what's there, so don't treat anything on those pages as their words or actions. The videos are only embedded from YouTube, never copied. If you're the creator, contact us (the help chat or the contact form): after checking it's you, we hand the whole collection to your own account, unpublished, or remove it.
- Only share your own content, or content you're allowed to share. You keep ownership; you give us permission to show it in the app, and you can remove it any time.
- Keep it safe and kind: no forcing, no promises of results, no medical claims, and always say when to stop.
- Don't contact people who aren't your students, ask anyone for personal details they haven't chosen to give you, or use what you see here for anything else. Your business profile and links are where people can find you.
- A moderator checks your first three items before they go live. Until you're verified, changes to the title, summary or steps of a live item are also checked first; the live version stays up until then. People who follow a programme, or have done an exercise, are told when its content changes.
- Moderators may re-tag, hide or remove items, or withdraw your role. You'll be told what changed and why, and you can reply through the contact form.
- You see how your items are doing as rounded totals only. Don't try to work out who someone is from them.
Coaching with students (trial)
This is a trial. Joining a coach, tasks, sharing your practice with your coach, and coach chat are free while the trial lasts. They may change at any time, and they may be charged for in future; we'll announce any charges well in advance. Public videos, exercises and programmes from coaches and content creators stay free.
If you join a coach as their student:
- You need to be 18 or over.
- Before joining you'll see exactly what the coach can see, and you agree to it. It's your practice overview, anything you share with them, and your task results in full, including recordings.
- You can leave at any time. Your coach then loses access to everything straight away, and you lose access to their tasks and private content. The same happens if they remove you, or either of you deletes your account.
- Your coach is independent (see above). VocaBoba doesn't check their advice or services.
If you coach students:
- Invite people with your codes, links or QR codes. Only coaches approved by our moderators can have students.
- Use what your students share with you only to coach them. Don't copy it, share it or keep it anywhere else.
- Your tasks, instructions, recordings, feedback and private content follow the same rules as everything else you share. Keep it safe and kind, and always say when to stop. Moderators can see your content, public or private.
Chats
- Coaches can only message their own current students, and students only their coaches. Keep it about voice practice, and keep it safe and kind.
- Only text and live voice notes: no files or pictures. Don't send anything sexual, hateful or threatening, or ask for personal details.
- If a message makes you uncomfortable, report it. A moderator will look at it, and may remove the message, a coach's role or restrict an account. Messages are also checked automatically (see above); a moderator only sees one that's flagged.
- The help chat is for questions about VocaBoba. VocaBoba AI answers first; you can choose Talk to a person, and moderators can read the chat and step in. AI replies may be wrong and are not medical advice or an emergency service. Please be patient when waiting for a moderator. For complex issues you can also use the contact form. The privacy policy explains what is sent to our AI help service, Fyra, its possible Google Cloud fallback, and how long chats are kept.
AI features
Transcripts and AI coaching notes are optional. They're produced by small AI models running on the VocaBoba server itself, from your own recordings and measurements only. They can be wrong: they're a guide, not advice.
Your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings (we suggest downloading a backup first). We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Anonymous mode
An anonymous account has no name, email or Google behind it. You're responsible for the recordings kept on your device: deleting the app or clearing its data deletes them, and we can't recover them. Without a passkey or recovery code we can't help you get back in, because nothing shows the account is yours. Sharing, the community, chat with others and coaches aren't available in anonymous mode. An account that isn't opened for 12 months is deleted. We may disable anonymous accounts that are used to abuse the service, and limit how many can be made. You can switch an existing account to anonymous mode (not while it's suspended or banned, and not as a moderator, coach or content creator): your posts and public profile are deleted and you leave any coach. You can switch back by adding a Google account.
The service
VocaBoba is free and provided "as is" by an individual. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and features may change. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law.
Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are important, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
