Hi, I'm Ferlin. You might know me as JoaTyy, the VTuber.
When I stream, I use a voice changer, because I don't like my own voice. I'm working on changing that.
I'm genderfluid and in my mid thirties. I've been practising my voice in my free time since September 2025. It's hard, and honestly, I'm struggling (maybe partly because of my age). That's why I built VocaBoba: to keep myself practising, and to actually see my progress over time instead of guessing.
I'm testing it on myself right now, and I'd love for you to join me. If something feels off, or you have ideas to make it better, please tell me. Your feedback shapes where this goes.
VocaBoba runs on my own Mac Studio at home. That keeps costs down, so I can keep it free.
Why VocaBoba?
VocaBoba is a little cup of boba tea for your voice. The tea can be any flavour you like, just as your voice is yours to shape, whatever your gender. The wave on top is a sound wave: your voice. The pearls are the small practice steps that add up over time. And the colours are the trans flag: light blue, pink and white. Like a warm drink after a long day of talking, it is meant to feel gentle.
