Changelog
What's changed in VocaBoba. The current version is 1.1.0.
Version 1.1.0
1 November 2026
- New VocaBoba is still in beta, and it now has its own address: vocaboba.moe. The whole site and app live there, and old links, share links and QR codes take you there automatically.
- New Signing in happens on the VocaBoba account page at voice-training.joatyy.stream. That's expected and safe: your Google sign-in and passkeys work exactly as before. Sign in once on vocaboba.moe; if you're already signed in in that browser, just tap Continue.
- New You can keep using the old address for 8 more weeks. A banner there shows the date and takes you to vocaboba.moe whenever you're ready.
- New Installed VocaBoba on your home screen? Install it again from vocaboba.moe, then turn notifications back on in Settings.
- New Practising anonymously? Your recordings stay on your device at the old address. Open the app there, tap Move now and save your move file, then open VocaBoba at vocaboba.moe, choose Practise anonymously and I have a move file. The file is your account: keep it private, like a recovery code.
- New Anonymous accounts without a passkey or recovery code now get a reminder to make a recovery code, so losing your device can't lose your account.
- Improved Adding a passkey or a Google account in Settings opens the VocaBoba account page for a moment, then brings you back. On iPhone, if signing in from the home-screen app finishes in Safari instead, tap "I started this in the VocaBoba app on this phone" and type the 6-digit code into the app. Never give that code to anyone.
Version 1.0.4
1 November 2026
- Improved Bigger app icons: the cup fills more of the icon and the BETA, Coach, Creator and Mod labels are easier to read on your home screen.
Version 1.0.3
31 October 2026
- Fixed The browser tab icon on every page, including Moderation and the coach and creator portals, now shows the new VocaBoba cup, and the sign-in and share pages save to the home screen as VocaBoba.
Version 1.0.2
31 October 2026
- Improved Pictures for shared posts and profiles now show the VocaBoba name and logo.
Version 1.0.1
31 October 2026
- Improved The coach brochure has the new VocaBoba name and logo.
Version 1.0.0
31 October 2026
- New VocaBoba 1.0! Voice Training is now VocaBoba, with a new name and logo and a few little boba touches. Same app, same address: your account, passkeys and recordings work just as before. vocaboba.joatyy.stream brings you here too. The About page tells the story behind the name.
Version 0.43.1
30 October 2026
- Improved On the Practice page, “Learn from coaches” is now called “Learn from video guides”. Until the first voice coach joins, it and the Practice tutorial say the videos come from content creators.
Version 0.43.0
30 October 2026
- New Settings has a new page, “Videos you've watched”: every Library video you've played, when you last watched it and how many times, with Watch again, Remove, and Clear all. Only you can see it, and it's the same list as Library → History → Watched.
- New Content creators can now see what share of viewers found each video helpful, once 10 or more people have watched it.
- Improved Videos from creators added by the Voice Training team now say so in your watch history, too.
Version 0.42.1
30 October 2026
- Fixed Coach features no longer appear just because the Library has videos from content creators. The Coach tab says coaches are coming soon until the first voice coach joins, and the website keeps its coach sections as “coming soon” until then. If you already work with a coach, nothing changes.
- Improved The Library's first tab is now called “From creators”, and “From coaches and creators” once there are coaches. After practice, suggested videos appear under “From the library”.
Version 0.42.0
30 October 2026
- New Exercise pages can now show a short video from the Library on the same thing under “Watch this first”, starting at the right moment. When there's no good match, nothing is shown.
- Improved Video suggestions are smarter: they prefer videos made for your direction, mix different creators, learn from what other people found useful, and offer a quick Short right after an exercise. The order changes a little each day.
Version 0.41.0
30 October 2026
- New Moderators can add many videos to added creators' profiles at once, from a file or by pasting the same text. Before anything is saved, they see which creators and videos it finds, and choose for each video that's already in the Library whether to keep it or replace its description. A coach's or creator's own videos are always kept as they are.
- Improved Coaches and content creators can now add as many videos, exercises and programmes as they like: there is no longer a limit of 500.
Version 0.40.1
23 October 2026
- Improved When it fits your question, the help chat AI can now suggest matching videos, exercises and programmes from the Library by name. They aren't clickable links yet, so look them up in the Library.
Version 0.40.0
22 October 2026
- New Help chat now starts with Voice Training AI for questions about the app. AI replies are clearly labelled, and you can choose Talk to a person whenever you need a moderator.
- New You can use help chat on the website without signing in. A guest cookie lets this browser return to your chat.
- Improved Help chat asks what to call you, separately from your profile. You can change the name for your next chat.
- Improved Send my current page shares a page name and a safe page pattern, with private codes and other address details removed. It does not send your screen or recordings.
- Improved When you ask for a person, the AI stops. If you go back to the AI, it cannot see what you and the moderators said. Signed-in users can send voice notes once a moderator joins; guests have no voice notes.
- Improved Moderators can see AI chats, step in, and use a private AI summary to help with the handover.
- Improved If the AI can't answer someone, moderators get a notification, once until the AI answers again or a moderator steps in. If the AI notices someone may need a person, the chat goes to the moderators even when the AI couldn't finish its answer.
- Improved The privacy policy now explains AI help through Fyra, the possible Google Cloud fallback, moderator access, guest cookies and how long help chats are kept.
- Improved Delete this chat removes your guest chats and requests deletion of their AI conversations at Fyra. After signing in, you can still read or delete your last guest chat from Earlier chats → Your chat from before you signed in, while its guest cookie is valid.
Version 0.39.1
14 October 2026
- Fixed Moderation → System no longer marks the processing computer as a problem when nothing is wrong with it. It was shown red while also saying it was working normally.
- Fixed When we have no fresh reading from the processing computer, Moderation → System now says its state is unknown, instead of claiming it is working normally or still holding work back. Recordings are processed as usual either way.
- Improved In Moderation → System → Processing, work that was done while someone waited for it is now labelled "while someone waited", so it no longer reads as if they were still waiting.
- Fixed Moderation → System names the data drive that is really in use. It still showed the old computer's drive after the move.
Version 0.39.0
9 October 2026
- New A "back shortly" page for planned maintenance, such as moving Voice Training to a new computer: the website shows it instead of errors, and the app shows a notice that checks by itself and carries on as soon as we're back. Recordings you make meanwhile stay on your device and are sent afterwards.
Version 0.38.1
9 October 2026
- Improved AI notes, weekly summaries and the safety check now have backup AI models: if the usual one is busy or unavailable, a tested backup on our own computer writes them instead, so they're less likely to be delayed.
- Improved Moderation → System → Processing shows AI notes, weekly summaries and the safety check separately, and which model answered.
Version 0.38.0
8 October 2026
- New JoaTyy contacted content creators and coaches and waited for them to come on board, but has since stopped waiting, so she made this feature to add resources herself. Every video comes with a disclaimer, and with a content creator profile that isn't written or owned by the original creator. If you're the original owner of a video, you can contact JoaTyy for an ownership transfer or to have it taken down. Thanks.
- New In the library, videos the team added show "Added by Voice Training · not run by" the creator, with a note on the video and the creator's page that they didn't publish it here. A creator can tap "This is my content" to take the whole collection over into their own account, or have it removed, through the help chat or the contact form.
- New Creators who take over their collection get every video unpublished, with its plays and ratings, so they can check the text and settings and publish what they want.
Version 0.37.0
8 October 2026
- New Moderation → System has a new Processing card: how much heavy work ran in the last 24 hours, 7 or 30 days, through the AI gateway or directly, how long it typically took, the slowest times, and anything that didn't finish. It records no content and nothing about who.
Version 0.36.1
8 October 2026
- Fixed When you sign in with a passkey, Settings now shows your account's email instead of "a test service account".
Version 0.36.0
8 October 2026
- Improved All the processing (analysing your recordings, background noise, the voice designer, clips, cards, pictures and transcripts) can now reach our computer through our own encrypted AI gateway, the next step towards running Voice Training on a cloud server. Some results may take a little longer.
- Improved When something takes longer than usual, a small "Still working on it…" note appears instead of a page that looks stuck, and if it really can't finish you're asked to try again rather than left waiting.
Version 0.35.0
7 October 2026
- Improved AI notes, your weekly summary and the automatic safety check can now reach the AI model through our own encrypted AI gateway, getting the app ready to move to a cloud server one day. The AI still runs on our own computers, nothing is sent to an outside AI service, and the gateway doesn't keep what's sent. The privacy policy, FAQ and Settings explain it.
Version 0.34.2
7 October 2026
- Improved AI notes after a session and in your weekly summary are now written by a larger model. They read more naturally and include their personal next steps and tips much more reliably.
Version 0.34.1
6 October 2026
- Fixed If your browser translates the page for you (for example Chrome's "Translate this page" on Android), the app no longer breaks with "Something went wrong" while you use it.
Version 0.34.0
4 October 2026
- Improved All the heavy work (analysing your recordings, voice previews, cleaning up background noise, transcripts and AI notes) now runs in a separate program on the same computer, which takes it one piece at a time so the website stays quick. Your results are exactly the same as before.
- Improved If processing is busy or paused when you record, your recording is still saved, and it's analysed as soon as processing is back.
- Improved Shared cards show emoji: the feeling on a shared clip is in colour, and milestone cards show their emoji large.
Version 0.33.5
3 October 2026
- Improved The sign-in page has two tabs: Sign in (Google, a passkey, or an email code for existing accounts) and Create an account (Google, a passkey alone, or anonymous mode).
- New Create an account with a passkey alone: on the sign-in page, “create an account with a passkey”. No email or Google needed. It's a regular account: your recordings are kept on our server, and adults can use the community.
- New In anonymous mode with a passkey, you can switch to a regular account with that passkey alone: Google is optional.
- Improved Email codes are for accounts that already use them; new accounts use Google or a passkey. If you sign in with an email code only, the app asks you to add your Google account.
- Improved New applications to be a coach or content creator need a Google sign-in.
Version 0.33.4
3 October 2026
- New Back to your anonymous account with a recovery code, straight from the sign-in page: in the installed app, “Use your recovery code” takes you to the box to type it in.
Version 0.33.3
3 October 2026
- New Switch an existing account to anonymous mode: Settings → Switch to anonymous mode, in the installed app. It explains what happens first, then moves your recordings to your device with a progress screen (it carries on where it stopped if the app is closed). Then they're deleted from our server, with your name, photo, Google and email sign-in, posts and profile. Your progress, badges and target voice stay.
- New Switch back to a regular account: Settings → Anonymous mode. Add your Google account, confirm, and the recordings on your device upload again. Sharing, the community and coaches come back.
- New If this device also holds an anonymous account while you're signed in to another one, the app says so (nothing is merged).
- Improved The website shows anonymous mode: screenshots on the homepage and the features page, and switching an existing account in the FAQ, privacy policy and terms.
Version 0.33.2
3 October 2026
- Fixed Play buttons now stop too: while a recording or clip plays, its ▶ becomes ■ Stop. This includes Recordings on this device, the target voice designer (also when it plays by itself after you move a slider), “Hear it at my target” and the voice samples in Settings.
- Fixed Only one sound plays at a time: starting one pauses whatever else was playing, so two never play over each other.
Version 0.33.1
3 October 2026
- New Right after starting anonymously, a step to keep a way back in: make a recovery code (shown there to copy) or add a passkey. You can skip it, knowing what that means, or choose a regular account instead.
- New In the installed app, setting up now asks whether to turn on notifications (for everyone, not only anonymous mode).
- Improved The sign-in page is simpler: Continue with Google and Sign in with a passkey first, a small link for email codes, then Practise anonymously.
- Improved Anonymous accounts say “Anonymous” with their code everywhere, instead of “a test service account”, and Delete account is “Erase everything”, which also clears the recordings on the device.
- Fixed Recording your starting snapshot: the button at the bottom now saves the part you just recorded and moves on (“Save and next”), instead of leaving it behind.
- Fixed The snapshot tutorial goes back to “Tap Record” when you choose Record again, instead of pointing at a button that's no longer there.
- Fixed Installing the app from the sign-in page (or a shared post) now installs the full app, which opens at practice, instead of a plain shortcut to that page.
Version 0.33.0
3 October 2026
- New Anonymous mode: practise without a name, email or Google, in the installed app. Your progress (charts, scores, badges, your target voice) is kept; your recordings stay only on your device. Choose “Practise anonymously” on the sign-in page.
- New In anonymous mode, your recordings are sent to our server to be analysed, then deleted straight away. Only the numbers (like pitch and resonance) are kept on the server. It says so by the Record button, in Settings and in the privacy policy.
- New Anonymous accounts can add a passkey or make a recovery code, so you can get back in on a new device. Without either, losing the device means nobody can get you back in, and the app reminds you.
- New Recordings on this device: see them, play them, download them (one at a time or a month at a time), delete them, or restore a backup. Only your own unchanged recordings can be restored. Recordings from your starting voice are labelled, and deleting one asks first, with a chance to download it. A gentle reminder each month to download a backup.
- New Sharing, the community, chat with others and coaches aren't part of anonymous mode. They stay in the app with a short “Not available in anonymous mode” note, so you always know what you're leaving out. Help chat and the library still work.
- Improved Every recording now has a fingerprint, so only the exact recording you made can be sent back for analysis.
- Improved Our server's logs no longer keep IP addresses, for anyone. The privacy policy and terms have a new section on anonymous mode.
Version 0.32.0
3 October 2026
- New Passkeys: add one in Settings → Sign-in methods, then choose “Sign in with a passkey” and use Face ID, your fingerprint or your device's PIN. No password or email code. Add one on each device you use (an iPhone and an Android phone, say), give them names, and remove any of them in Settings.
- Improved The privacy policy and FAQ explain passkeys: your device keeps the secret part, and we keep only a public key, its name and when it was used.
Version 0.31.0
2 October 2026
- New Five more badges: Journal Keeper, Hydration Hero, Listened to My Body, Hands-Free and Seeing Sound.
- New My notes: add or change your own notes on any session from its page, not only when you finish. They're private and now stored encrypted, like your other notes.
- New A water reminder: a gentle nudge to sip some water during practice, every few minutes as you choose. It's off unless you turn it on in Settings → Practice.
- New “I'll rest today”: after a session that felt strained, choose to rest from the stop-here note or the gentle suggestion. Resting counts.
- Improved Finishing the hands-free routine, and using live resonance or a spectrogram for the first time, now count towards badges. Routines you've already finished count too.
Version 0.30.1
2 October 2026
- Improved The new badge card on Practice is more compact on phones, with Share it, All badges and Not now.
- Improved The website's screenshots now show badges: a new badge card and Your badges, in the features page gallery with a “See it” link.
Version 0.30.0
2 October 2026
- New Badges: little rewards for turning up, being kind to your voice and trying things, from your first session to a year of practice. Find them in Progress → Badges. They're private, never about how your voice sounds, there's nothing to keep up in a row, and they're never ranked. Badges you haven't earned yet show how to earn them.
- New Share a badge if you like: the badge, its name and the date, with your own caption. Never your voice. Publicly, anonymously or by private link, like other posts.
- Improved Milestones are now badges. Practice you've already done counts, with the dates you earned them, and you'll get one message about them, not one for each. Posts you've already shared stay as they are.
- Improved If you let your coach see your weekly goal and progress checks, they can see your badges too.
Version 0.29.2
2 October 2026
- Improved New screenshots on the website: practising with your pitch live, an exercise, your target voice, the weekly goal, Check my progress and your progress at a glance, in light and dark, plus progress on a computer.
- New A gallery on the features page with screens of the app to swipe through, a screenshot beside most sections, and “See it” links on the featured items.
Version 0.29.1
1 October 2026
- New Choose light, dark, or the same as your device. It's at the bottom of the website's pages and in Settings in the app, the coach and creator portals and moderation, and it applies to every page on that device.
Version 0.29.0
1 October 2026
- New This week: a dot for each day you practise and a gentle weekly goal (2 days to start; change it or turn it off in Settings). Missing it never resets anything, and a week off now and then is fine.
- New Suggestions for what seems to be lacking most: with a target voice, exercises for what's furthest from it first. If practice has felt hard lately, a gentle extra suggestion appears on top.
- New Check my progress: read the passage once and see what's close to your target voice and what's furthest, for pitch, resonance and weight. Your suggestions follow it. A short held “ahh” is offered only if the passage couldn't measure enough.
- New Welcome back: after a week or more away, a two-minute warm-up to ease back in.
- New New quiet milestones: days of practice, weeks reaching your goal, and your first progress check.
- New You can let your coach see your weekly goal, milestones and progress checks. It's off unless you turn it on.
- Improved If you've turned on practice reminders, at most one gentle note a week when one more day would reach your goal. Never after a week is missed.
- Improved Tutorials: the Practice home tutorial shows the weekly card and Check my progress.
Version 0.28.2
1 October 2026
- Improved The voice designer sounds cleaner: where a breathy or unsteady voice breaks up for a moment, your voice is carried through instead of turning into noise, and your breaths and pauses now stay as you recorded them, so making your voice lighter no longer turns breaths into hiss.
- Improved If a recording has too little voice to change cleanly (too quiet, whispered, or just the phone moving in your hand), the designer tells you and asks for a short phrase recorded closer to the phone, instead of making static.
- Fixed A recording with only the sound of the phone being moved could be read as a very low voice. It now says no voice could be heard.
- Improved Long silences before and after a recording are trimmed to one second, so recordings are shorter and the silence doesn't count. Pauses in the middle are kept. Voice notes and coaches' instructions are never trimmed.
Version 0.28.1
1 October 2026
- Fixed A few held vowels couldn't be analysed at all and stayed marked as failed. They now say that no voice could be heard in them, like other recordings without a clear voice.
Version 0.28.0
1 October 2026
- New A background noise check before recording: on your first recording of each visit, stay quiet for a moment while the app listens to the room. If it's noisy, it tells you what kind of noise it hears, and you can find a quieter spot or carry on.
- New Every recording has a badge: OK, Noisy, Cleaned or Not checked. Recordings with background noise still count, but their results, scores and comparisons say they're less certain, and they show as hollow points on your charts. Your coach sees the badges too.
- New Clean up background noise, recording by recording. For steady noise like a fan or air conditioning, cleaning works the recording's results out again from the cleaned audio. You can always go back to the original, and download the cleaned one, the original, or both.
- New Compare with another snapshot: from a recording's comparison, try a different snapshot, listen to its recording of the same words, and if it works better, compare all your progress with it. Your target voice stays the same voice.
- Improved The snapshot you choose to compare with now counts everywhere, including your target voice, session scores and session notes.
- Improved Your older recordings are being checked for background noise too, without changing their numbers. If your snapshot or target voice was recorded with noise, you'll get one message with what you can do.
- Improved Tutorials: a new short one about background noise, the first time a recording has some.
Version 0.27.10
1 October 2026
- Fixed The download menu for your target voice could open partly off the screen on a phone. It now always stays on the screen, and closes when you tap elsewhere or pick an option.
Version 0.27.9
1 October 2026
- New Download your own voice: a small icon next to your recordings (in sessions, favourites, best clips, comparisons and your posts) saves them to your device.
- New Download your target voice: the changed voice, your original (the recording it was made from), or both one after the other. Also the version you're designing, and any recording you hear at your target.
- Improved Only you can download your voice. Your coach can listen to what you share but can't download it, you can't download your coach's recordings, and on shared posts only the person who shared the clip can download it. This is enforced by our server, not just hidden on the page.
- Improved Tutorials: a past session and your posts now point out the download icon, and there's a new short tutorial for your target voice.
Version 0.27.8
30 September 2026
- Improved A session score now says what it couldn't measure, and why. For example, vocal weight and resonance are only compared on the same words as your starting snapshot (a held “ahh”, “eee” or “ooo”, the glide or the passage), so a session with other sentences shows “not measured” with the reason, instead of leaving them out without a word.
- New When pitch, resonance or vocal weight can't be scored in a session (words that aren't in your starting snapshot, no starting snapshot yet, or no speech for pitch), the session compares it with the last time you recorded the same words instead, for example “2 dB lighter” or “1.5 semitones higher”. It's shown next to your score, not counted in it, and it follows your setting for comparisons.
- Improved “Lighter and fuller” now ends with a short held “ahh” in your lighter voice. It matches the “ahh” in your starting snapshot, so the session gets a vocal weight score.
Version 0.27.7
30 September 2026
- Fixed In the voice designer, Play, Original and your slider changes could make no sound on an iPhone, for example after listening to your target first. They now play the same way as “▶ Listen”, and if your device still blocks the sound, you'll see a message asking you to tap Play.
- Fixed After trying lots of slider changes in the voice designer, Redesign and “Use this” on a recording could stop working for a minute with “That's a lot of changes at once”. Trying out changes no longer counts against starting a design.
- Fixed If Redesign can't open your current target, it now tells you why instead of quietly showing the recording list.
Version 0.27.6
30 September 2026
- Improved Redesign now opens with the sliders where you saved them, on the recording you designed from, so Play and Original sound different again. Reset takes the sliders back to your saved settings, and Original plays the recording unchanged. If that recording has gone, one of your other recordings is used, with the sliders set to reach the same target.
- Fixed In the voice designer, Play and Reset could stay silent on a phone when your first touch was on a slider.
Version 0.27.5
30 September 2026
- Improved Redesign now starts from your current target voice instead of from scratch: with the sliders in the middle it stays as it is, and you adjust from there. Reset takes you back to it, and you can still start over with a new phrase or recording.
- Fixed The voice change from 0.27.4 could sound distorted or hissy, especially on phone recordings, so the designer is back to how it made voices before.
Version 0.27.4
30 September 2026
- Fixed The target voice designer (and “Hear it at my target”) could make your voice sound robotic. It now keeps your voice's own texture and breath, so changes to pitch and resonance sound much more like you. “Lighter” now really sounds lighter and airier, and “Original” plays your actual recording. Previews are faster too.
Version 0.27.3
29 September 2026
- Improved Settings is easier to scan in the app, the coach and content creator portals and moderation: each part of a settings screen has a clear heading and a divider, so one group no longer looks like part of the one before. Practice sessions is split into Session scores, Rest reminder and the voices that speak the prompts (now one clear list, with “leave out” as its own choice).
- Improved Each recording's results are in clear parts: How did it feel?, Pitch, resonance and the spectrogram, then Listen and keep. The 1–5 ratings always fit on one line on a phone.
- Improved On every page, a heading in the middle of a card starts a new part, with space and a thin line above it.
Version 0.27.2
29 September 2026
- New Progress now opens with a one-screen Summary: how far along the way to your target you are (and how that compares with a month ago), start → now → target for pitch, resonance and weight, your session scores, the last 14 days of practice and how it felt, your best clip and your target to listen to, and one next step. All the detail is still there under “Details”.
Version 0.27.1
29 September 2026
- Improved Session scores now show how each part compares with your recent level (the middle of your last five sessions, so one off day doesn't swing it): “▲ 6 on your recent level” and your personal bests, “Steady” for small changes, and a gentle “Lower than your recent level” that always comes with a way forward: what to try, an exercise and a video or exercise from the library. If it didn't feel easy, it suggests resting first.
- New You can turn these comparisons off in Settings → Practice sessions. The scores still show.
Version 0.27.0
29 September 2026
- New Always know what's next: a bar stays at the bottom of the screen in practice sessions, exercises, coaches' exercises and tasks, programmes, snapshots and the target voice designer. It shows how far you've got (tap a step to go to it) and one clear button: “Next: Glide →”, then “Finish”. In a Mixed session it steps you through ahh, a glide, a question and the passage.
- New Programmes take you from one item to the next: finish a step and you go straight on to the next one, ticked off as you go. Tasks from your coach finish with “Finish & mark task done”.
- New A score for each session, with a target voice: how close the session came to your own target (pitch, resonance and weight), combined with how easy it felt. Strain always brings it down. See it in the bar as you practise, at the top of each session, next to your recent sessions, and over time in Progress. It's about your target, never a gender.
- New Your best clips: the recordings closest to your target for pitch, resonance and weight, in Progress and on your target page, next to your target voice. A clip that's best at more than one is shown once. They keep their audio automatically (at most three) until a better one comes along.
- New “▶ Hear it at my target” on any recording: under each result, in History, on Favourites and on your best clips.
- Improved Progress puts what to do next right after your target. Setting up counts the optional target voice step (5 of 5). The home page now says “Your voice, your target”: never a gender score, and progress measured only against your own start and target.
Version 0.26.2
29 September 2026
- Fixed “Try this next” under a recording seemed to do nothing on phones: the exercise it chose appeared at the top of the page, out of sight. It now takes you straight to the exercise, with its first recording step ready, and the next steps update.
Version 0.26.1
29 September 2026
- Fixed The exercise for a reading passage that's no longer offered kept loading forever when opened from a task or your history. It opens again, and you can still practise it.
- Fixed Library → From the app showed reading passages meant for other accents. It now shows the ones offered for your accent, plus any you've read before.
- Fixed When you share a reading passage with your coach, they now see the same results you do for that passage, not every measurement.
- Fixed Your first weekly summary could leave out your first recordings if your phone's clock was a little behind.
Version 0.26.0
29 September 2026
- New Reading passages: longer texts to read aloud (medium or long), added by our moderators. Find them in Practice's prompt list and as exercises in Library → From the app. Each reading is compared with your earlier readings of the same text: in “Compared with…”, Progress, the Resonance page (pick which passage) and blind listening.
- New You can add up to two reading passages at the end of a snapshot, if you like. It's optional: your snapshot is complete without them, and a later check-in offers the ones you read before, so you can compare.
- New Coaches can use reading passages as steps in their own exercises, and give them as tasks or add them to programmes like any app exercise. Results are shared with your coach as usual.
- Improved With a target voice, Progress's “Could use some time” and “What to do next” start with the biggest gap to it and a gentle way to get there, with an exercise and videos or exercises from coaches and content creators for exactly that. Suggestions, library picks and AI notes aim at it too.
- New A questions-and-answers page, linked from “How it works” on the home page.
- Fixed Transcripts didn't work for everyday-speech answers and coaches' own prompts. They now use your accent.
Version 0.25.0
29 September 2026
- New Your target voice: say a short phrase (or pick one of your recordings), then move three sliders (pitch, resonance from darker to brighter, and weight from fuller to lighter and airier) and hear your own voice changed a moment after you let go. Save it as your target: the voice and the numbers, or just the numbers. It's changed on our own server, and the phrase you say is never saved.
- New Before, now and target: Progress, session results, the daily routine's check sentence, suggestions and session notes show where you started, where you are now and your target (for example “142 → 168 Hz, target 185: 60% of the way”), and aim at the biggest gap. A very big change gets one gentle note; it never stops you.
- New Hear any of your recordings at your target: it keeps the melody, words and timing, and changes only what's needed.
- New Where to find it: an optional last step when you set up, a card under Practice (tap “Not now” and it comes back in a month), and Settings → Voice & goals → Your target voice, where you can redesign it, switch between keeping the voice or just the numbers, or remove it. Your target also sets your target pitch range, which you can still change.
- New Coaches: while you're someone's student, they see your target (where you started, now and target) and can hear the designed clip, unless you turn either off in Settings. The join screen and privacy policy say so.
Version 0.24.5
29 September 2026
- Fixed The daily routine and everyday speech sometimes didn't notice you speaking unless you were very close to the phone. They now pick up a normal speaking voice more readily, and a level bar shows that the microphone is hearing you.
- Improved In the installed app, tapping the logo at the top left no longer takes you out to the website. In a browser it still goes to the home page.
Version 0.24.4
29 September 2026
- Fixed On iPhone, the daily routine and everyday speech stopped hearing you after the first prompt (since 0.24.3). The microphone now stays on the whole time again.
- Improved Spoken prompts are turned up on an iPhone's own speaker (never on AirPods, Bluetooth or headset microphones), and there's a prompt volume setting (quieter, normal or louder) under each routine and scene, remembered on your device.
Version 0.24.3
29 September 2026
- Fixed Spoken prompts in the daily routine and everyday speech were very quiet on iPhone. The app now lets go of the microphone while a prompt plays, so it comes through the speaker at full volume, and the prompts themselves are louder.
Version 0.24.2
29 September 2026
- New Streaming overlay: show your live pitch (and, if you like, a resonance dot) on stream. Settings → Streaming overlay gives you a private link to add to OBS as a browser source, on a transparent background, in the look and size you choose. Your voice is analysed in your own Voice Training tab and only the numbers are sent; nothing is recorded, and you can change or remove the link any time.
Version 0.24.1
29 September 2026
- Fixed Spoken prompts in the daily routine and everyday speech now play reliably on iPhone.
- Fixed A daily routine or everyday speech session opened from History now has the right title.
Version 0.24.0
29 September 2026
- New Your 5 minutes: a daily routine, hands-free. It speaks each step and listens for you: a warm-up, a glide, one practice line that follows your goals, the same check sentence every day, and one everyday line. A calendar shows the days you practised, with no streaks. Practice reminders now open it.
- New Everyday speech: short scenes (ordering a coffee, booking by phone, meeting someone new, and more) where someone says a line and you answer out loud. Afterwards, your everyday gap: your pitch and resonance while answering, next to your reading voice.
- New Choose the voices that speak the prompts in Settings → Practice sessions: a mix (the default), only one of a lower, middle or higher voice, or leave one out. Each has a sample to hear.
- Improved History labels daily routines and everyday speech sessions.
- Improved "New" tags on the home page and the features page now mark what arrived in the last three versions.
- Fixed On phones, the "Content creators on Voice Training" card in the content creator portal had its picture over its text.
- Improved The "get the app" banner on phones is now one compact strip in the app's colours, with "How" showing the steps and ✕ to hide it for 7 days. Settings → Install as an app has tidier steps, and no longer mentions signing in with Cloudflare.
Version 0.23.0
28 September 2026
- New Live resonance (experimental): hold a vowel and watch a dot move on a vowel chart as you make it brighter or darker, over where your own vowels sat: your starting voice, your best recent held vowels, or a favourite. Nothing is recorded. It's in resonance practice and on the Resonance page.
- New Ear training: listening games for which note is higher and which vowel is brighter, with tones that get closer as you improve, then with your own recordings. Right and wrong is about your ear, never your voice.
- New Blind listening: two of your own readings of the same text (snapshots included) with the dates hidden. Note what you hear, guess which is more recent, then see what changed.
- New A page listing everything the app does, linked from the home page.
- Improved The home page now describes sign-in with Google, the spectrogram under every recording, resonance in everyday speech, live resonance and ear training, with new screenshots of the app as it is today.
- Fixed Session notes said "in the direction they chose"; they now say "you chose".
Version 0.22.5
28 September 2026
- Improved Coach portal: search your students by name, their public page address (like @name), or their full email address. It also works when choosing students for a task.
- Improved Every list now says when you've reached its end (like "No more posts."), and conversations show where they start and "This is the latest message".
Version 0.22.4
28 September 2026
- Improved Chats with your coach and help chats open with the latest messages, and earlier ones load as you scroll up, keeping your place. Long conversations are no longer cut off.
- Improved Comments on a post show the newest ones first, with "Show earlier comments" for the rest.
- Improved Coach portal: Students loads as you scroll, in the order you choose (last activity, name or when they joined).
Version 0.22.3
28 September 2026
- Improved Long lists open faster: History, My posts, the inbox, the library and coach pages, Shared voices and profiles show the first few, and more load by themselves as you scroll (a "Show more" button is there too).
- Improved Coach and content creator portals: your library, Changes and Tasks load the same way.
- Improved Moderation: People, All content, reports, flagged items, help chats, reported chats, the log, notifications, broadcasts and app errors load as you scroll, and older items are no longer cut off.
Version 0.22.2
28 September 2026
- Improved Moderators: each person's page shows how they sign in (email code, Google or both) with each email, their card shows a small tag, and People has an "Email code + Google" filter for freeing email-code places.
Version 0.22.1
28 September 2026
- Fixed Signing out after using an email code showed a Cloudflare error page. You now land on the sign-in page, with a link to also end the email-code sign-in if you're on a shared device.
Version 0.22.0
28 September 2026
- New Sign in with Google. New accounts can use Google straight away, and a new account starts with your Google name (change it any time).
- New Settings → Sign-in methods: add your Google account to an account that uses an email code, even if the emails differ, so both open the same account. Once Google works, you can remove the email-code sign-in.
- New A new sign-in page with both choices. It takes you back to the page you were on, including in the coach, content creator and moderation portals and on shared posts.
- Improved You stay signed in for 30 days after you last used the app (up to 180 days), and "Sign out everywhere" ends every device at once.
- Improved Signing out now also ends your email-code sign-in, so the next person on the device has to sign in again.
Version 0.21.0
28 September 2026
- New Resonance in speech (experimental): after reading a passage or sentences, see how far apart your resonances were across everything you said, with F1 and F2, compared with your first read of the same text. Your resonance report shows it over time.
- New Sentence by sentence: longer recordings are split at pauses, with the pitch, range and ending of each sentence.
- Improved The spectrogram now shows with every recording, covers the whole take (scroll sideways for long ones), and draws your pitch line, your resonances and where each sentence starts.
- New Coaches can make their own practice: a text of their own to read, or their own instructions to speak, hold a sound or slide, with a sample in their voice for each step. They can choose which results you see and what the AI notes look at.
- New Programmes can have an introduction and a "what to look out for in your results", as text, a recording or a video. The guide also shows under your results for the programme's exercises.
- New On phones, a banner offers to install Voice Training as an app. "Not now" hides it for 7 days, and it never shows in the installed app.
- New Moderators: the overview shows activity for the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days (sign-ups, recordings, exercises, shared content, plays and more), compared with the period before.
Version 0.20.2
28 September 2026
- Fixed If a page ever breaks, you now see "Something went wrong" with a Reload button instead of a blank page, and we're sent the details so we can fix it.
- Fixed Opening Settings and another page at the same moment as a new user could fail to load your sharing profile.
Version 0.20.1
28 September 2026
- New Tabs now show a number when something is waiting for you: Coach (a message, a new task or feedback from your coach) and Posts (new comments) in the app, Students and Changes in the coach portal, Changes for content creators, and Moderation for moderators.
- New The moderation portal has four tabs, with a bar at the bottom on phones: Overview (with Notifications, Log, and the system status below), Content, People (with Coaches, Content creators and Broadcast) and Moderation (Flagged, Help chats, Reported chats, reports, Library and Words). Sections waiting for a moderator show a count.
- Improved The automatic safety check now reads a chat message with up to 20 messages before it, so it can spot patterns in longer conversations.
- New Voice notes, recorded feedback, task samples and shared clips are now part of the automatic safety check: the AI on our own server turns what's said into text and checks that. Sounds like humming or sighing are never checked. If a recording is flagged, moderators can read the transcript and play a copy, kept by the same rules as other flags.
Version 0.20.0
28 September 2026
- New The coach portal has four tabs, like the app: Library, Students, Profile and Changes. On phones they're a bar at the bottom. Library now holds Gaps and Stats, and adding a video, exercise or programme has its own Add page.
- New Students in the coach portal: sort by last activity (a new message, or a task started, done or reviewed), by name or by newest, with badges for new messages and tasks waiting for your feedback. Invites and Tasks are there too, and each student's page has their progress, your messages and their tasks.
- New The content creator portal works the same way, with three tabs: Library (with Gaps and Stats), Profile and Changes.
- New The coach, content creator and moderation portals now have the same top bar as the app: the tutorial ?, the inbox bell and your photo and name. Each portal has its own inbox and its own Settings, so you stay in the portal.
- New Each portal can be added to your home screen as its own app ("VT Coach", "VT Creator", "VT Moderation"), with its own icon and its own notifications. Adding Voice Training from the website now opens the app.
- New Coaches and content creators can set up their account right in the portal: just your age range and name, with nothing to record. The practice app asks for the rest when you first open it.
- New When you're signed in, the help chat is on the public website too.
- Improved Answers to coach and content creator applications, and messages to coaches or content creators, now arrive in that portal's inbox. Help chat replies open where you asked the question.
- Fixed The help chat button now sits the same distance from the right and bottom edges of the window, including on computers that always show a scrollbar.
Version 0.19.6
28 September 2026
- Fixed A moderator who writes in the help chat from their own account (for example to test it) now still gets the moderator notification for it. Having the chat open as the person asking no longer counts as having it open as the moderator.
Version 0.19.5
28 September 2026
- Improved On computers, the help chat button sits a little higher and further from the corner, so it no longer looks cut off at the bottom of the window.
Version 0.19.4
28 September 2026
- Improved The logo at the top of the coach, content creator and moderation portals now goes to the Voice Training home page, like it does in the app. "Back to Voice Training" still takes you to the app.
Version 0.19.3
28 September 2026
- Fixed In the coach and content creator portals, people who hadn't set up their account in the app yet were told they had to be 18 or over, with no way to apply. They're now asked to set up their account first (including their age range), and brought back to the portal to apply.
Version 0.19.2
28 September 2026
- New A "For content creators" page on the website: what sharing your voice training videos on Voice Training looks like, and how to apply. The home page and every page's footer link to it, and to the page for coaches.
- Improved Search engines can now find the public website more easily: a sitemap, clearer page addresses, and link previews with a picture on every public page. The app, the portals and people's shared posts still never appear in search results.
Version 0.19.1
28 September 2026
- New A Favourites page (from Home, Practice or Settings) where you can listen back to the recordings you've saved as favourites, and remove ones you don't need.
- Improved Favourites are now kept until you remove them, even if you chose to keep practice recordings for a shorter time. You can keep up to 20.
Version 0.19.0
28 September 2026
- New Automatic safety checks: every few hours, the AI on our own server reads what people write for others (post captions, comments, coach and student chats, tasks, notes, feedback and library items), and shows moderators anything that looks harmful. It reads chat messages together with the conversation before them. It never checks your practice, recordings or voice notes, never hides anything by itself, and you're only told if a moderator acts.
- New Chat messages and comments with a word that isn't allowed are no longer sent. You'll see which word, and your text stays so you can change it and send again.
- New Moderators can remove a coach and student chat message. Both people then see "Removed by a moderator", and the sender is told why.
- New Moderators can reply in the help chat with a voice note, too.
- Improved Chat notifications are calmer: each chat (with your coach, your students or the moderators) has one item in your inbox that moves to the top when there's a new message, and nothing is sent while you have that chat open.
- Improved After recording a voice note, recorded feedback or a task sample, you can listen back first, then send it or delete it. Voice notes in chats now say how many days are left before they're deleted.
- Improved The privacy policy and terms explain the automatic checks: what they cover, that they run on our own server, what moderators see, and how long flagged text is kept (30 days, or 180 days if a moderator acts).
- Improved The gear at the top is gone: tap your photo and name to open Settings.
- Improved On phones, the top bar is less crowded: a smaller Voice Training name and tighter spacing.
- Fixed On phones, scrolling the help chat now scrolls the chat, not the page behind it.
- Fixed The note you add to "How do you feel about your voice this week?" now shows on the card, with Edit note, instead of hiding behind "Add a note".
Version 0.18.3
28 September 2026
- Improved The home page now invites content creators too, next to shared voices and coaches, and mentions that coaches can coach their own students in the app.
Version 0.18.2
28 September 2026
- Improved A new coach brochure: it now includes coaching your own students in the app (on trial), and that public videos, exercises and programmes stay free.
Version 0.18.1
28 September 2026
- New Chat with your coach, or with your students: one-to-one messages and voice notes (up to 2 minutes, deleted 7 days after they're played). Only the two of you can read it, and you can report a message. When coaching ends, you both keep a read-only copy.
- New Help chat: tap the chat button on any page to ask the moderators. Your messages show which page you're on, and Send my current page shows us what you're seeing. Close a chat when it's done, and find earlier chats in the same place.
- Improved A new Messages notification for chats. Moderators get Help chats and Reported chats in the moderation portal.
- Improved Privacy policy and terms updated for chats.
Version 0.18.0
28 September 2026
- New Coach tab: join your voice coach with the code, link or QR code they give you. Before joining you see exactly what they'll be able to see, and you can leave at any time. For adults, and on trial: free while the trial lasts.
- New Tasks from your coach: an exercise, video or programme with their instructions and a recording of how they do it. Your results are shared with your coach automatically, and they can reply with written or recorded feedback.
- New Share with my coach: send any session or recording to your coach with a note. They see it live, so deleting a recording or editing your note changes it for them too, and they lose access if you leave.
- New For coaches: Students, Tasks and Invites in the coach portal. See each student's progress and what they share, give tasks and feedback, make invites with seat limits and expiry, and make videos, exercises and programmes private for your students only.
- Improved The menu is now Practice, Library, Progress, Posts and Coach. Settings is the gear next to your name.
- Improved Moderators have an All content view of every coach and content creator item, public or private, with filters.
- Improved A new Coaching notification, and the tutorials, privacy policy and terms are updated for coaching with students.
Version 0.17.0
27 September 2026
- New A new menu, the same on phone and computer: Practice, Library, Progress, Posts and Settings. History is now under Practice: your recent sessions are on the Practice page, with See all history.
- New Library is a main tab, with three parts: From coaches, From the app (the app's own exercises, moved here) and Your history.
- New Your history in the Library: videos you've watched, exercises you've done and your programmes, with Watch again, Do it again and Continue. Only you can see it, and you can remove anything or clear it all.
- Improved History and session pages now name the exercise you did, whose it is, and the step if it's part of a programme you follow, with a Do it again button.
- Improved Moderators now find the moderation portal in Settings, with what's waiting, instead of in the menu.
- Improved Tutorials updated for the new menu and the Library.
- Fixed Some pop-ups, like Notifications in Settings, could cut off their Save and Cancel buttons when the content was long. The buttons now always stay visible.
Version 0.16.0
27 September 2026
- New Content creators: people who make voice training videos can apply to share their YouTube videos on Voice Training, with their own portal at /content-creator: their profile, videos, what people need, how their videos are doing, and any changes moderators made.
- New Coaches and content creators now apply with a short form in their portal: about them, a sample YouTube video, and credentials if they have any. The answer arrives in their inbox and as a notification. There's a link to the contact form for questions before applying.
- New Coach and creator portals have a Stats tab: how often each item was suggested, how many people watched or did it, their feedback, and how their practice went afterwards. Numbers are rounded and small ones hidden, so no one can be picked out.
- Improved Library videos and profiles say whether they're from a coach or a content creator.
- Improved Downloading your data now includes library videos you played, feedback you gave, programmes you follow and any coach or creator applications.
- Improved Moderation: separate Coaches and Content creators tabs with new and past applications, each person's profile, what they've made and how it's doing; announcements can go to app users, coaches or content creators.
Version 0.15.3
27 September 2026
- Improved The home page has a new "A look inside" section with three screens from the app: the Overview, session notes and a progress chart. They match your light or dark setting, and a toggle switches between the two.
Version 0.15.2
27 September 2026
- Improved A tidier home page: every section heading has the same accent, cards have icons, and "Shared voices" and the section for voice coaches now sit side by side under "Share and learn together".
Version 0.15.1
27 September 2026
- Improved The home page has a short section for voice coaches, linking to the coach brochure.
Version 0.15.0
27 September 2026
- New A brochure for voice coaches at /coach-brochure: the whole pages on a computer, one panel at a time on a phone, and a PDF to download.
- New Coach portal: the brochure on the page for new coaches, and a footer on every page linking to it and explaining how to ask for the detailed coach guide.
Version 0.14.2
27 September 2026
- Fixed The live pitch line could show you an octave too low for a whole phrase if you started it much higher than the one before. It now starts fresh after a pause.
- Fixed The live pitch line is steadier: fewer jumps to the wrong octave on quick rises, and fewer gaps while you're voicing.
Version 0.14.1
26 September 2026
- Fixed Session notes could wrongly say you'd rated a recording as straining, and suggest resting. They now only look at your own ratings, and only on the day of that session.
Version 0.14.0
26 September 2026
- New Progress → Overview: all your practice in one place. Each area shows where you are compared with your start, how it's been feeling, and when you last practised, plus what could use a little time and what to do next.
- New Weekly summary: at a day and time you choose, a summary of everything since the last one and a few goals to pick from for the week ahead (any, or none). It arrives in your inbox, and as a notification after your quiet hours.
- New A weekly question, "How do you feel about your voice this week?", private to you. Your overview and summary use it alongside your ratings.
- New "Your week" on the practice page: sessions this week and how your goals are going.
- Improved A reminder that the AI is only there to help: it isn't always right, trust your own ears, and a professional voice coach can help if you feel stuck.
Version 0.13.8
26 September 2026
- Fixed On a day when the app suggests resting your voice, session notes no longer show "Try next time" tips.
- Fixed A tip's "why today" no longer just repeats the tip.
Version 0.13.7
26 September 2026
- New Session notes now have three parts: How it went, Try next time (one or two tips for your direction and what happened, with why), and Next exercises.
- Improved If the AI can't write notes for a session, the notes now say so with a Try again button, instead of quietly showing the simple version.
- Fixed AI notes that get cut off keep what was complete, and an unreadable reply is tried again once, more briefly.
Version 0.13.6
26 September 2026
- Improved A smaller logo and name at the top of the app, so it fits on one line on phones.
- Fixed Session notes could misread a low strain rating as high. Ratings are now described in plain words (for example "No strain"), so the notes read them correctly.
Version 0.13.5
26 September 2026
- Fixed AI notes were being cut off, so you got the simple summary instead. They're written in full again.
Version 0.13.4
26 September 2026
- Improved Notes on sessions from before 26 September are marked "Earlier notes", with a short explanation of what they don't take into account, and an "Update these notes" button to rewrite them the new way.
Version 0.13.3
26 September 2026
- Improved Rate how a recording felt straight after you record it, while it's being analysed and before you see any numbers. When you finish, if some recordings weren't rated, you're asked once how the whole session felt (you can skip it).
- Improved Session notes (both the AI notes and the summary) now know the direction you're exploring, compare with your last session as well as your start, and look at effort alongside change, favouring ease. Small changes are called "about the same".
- New If a programme you follow, or an exercise you've done, is changed by its coach, you get a message in your inbox (and a notification if "Updates to things you follow" is on). Changed items show "Updated" for 30 days.
- Improved Coach portal: until you're a verified coach, changes to the content of a live item are checked by a moderator first, and the live version stays up until then.
Version 0.13.2
26 September 2026
- New Coach portal tutorials: a short guide the first time you open each part of the portal (your library, adding a video, an exercise or a programme, your profile, gaps and changes), with a ? to see it again. Once you have two live videos or exercises, it shows you how to start a programme.
- Improved The welcome message only mentions the coaches' library once there's something in it.
Version 0.13.1
26 September 2026
- New After a 👎 on AI notes, you can say what was wrong and, if you choose, share those notes with the moderators to help improve them. Moderators see how the AI notes are rated overall, never whose they are.
- Improved Tutorials remember where you were: leave a page, refresh or follow a button, and it continues from the same step.
- Improved A tutorial's step count only includes the steps that apply to you right now.
- Improved Coach portal: programmes open up once you have two live videos or exercises, since a programme is a series of them.
- Improved Clearer instructions for applying to be a coach: what to fill in and what happens next.
Version 0.13.0
26 September 2026
- New Tutorials: the first time you open each page, a short guide points at the parts that matter. In practice it walks you through for real: pick the prompt, record it, and only then the next one.
- New The ? at the top of a page shows its tutorial again at any time.
- New Settings → Tutorials: turn tutorials off, see which ones you've seen, and choose "Show me next time" for any of them.
Version 0.12.6
26 September 2026
- Improved The practice page no longer shows "Learn from coaches" until there's something in the coaches' library.
Version 0.12.5
26 September 2026
- New A welcome message in your inbox when you finish setting up: what you can do in the app, with links, and tips for installing it on your phone or using a good microphone on a computer.
- New Messages from the Voice Training team arrive in your inbox, and as a notification if you keep "Announcements" turned on in Settings → Notifications.
- New Moderators can send a message to everyone, to adults or to coaches, with a preview first and a record of how many people have read it.
- Improved "Send a test" now says right under the button that the test arrives in 10 seconds, and to close the app to see it.
- Improved Settings → About is tidier: the version and "What's new" first, then how it's built, about the creator, and privacy, terms and contact (no longer repeated at the bottom of Settings).
Version 0.12.4
26 September 2026
- New Inbox: the bell at the top shows everything the app has told you about in the last 90 days (notes ready, check-ins due, comments, messages from the moderators), even if notifications are off. The number on the bell and the app icon is how many you haven't read.
- Improved Opening a notification, the post it's about, or the moderators' message marks it as read in your inbox.
- Fixed iPhone: notifications now appear (they were being sent in a format iOS quietly ignored), and the app no longer asks you to add your iPhone again every time you reopen it. Adding the same device again replaces its old entry instead of listing it twice.
Version 0.12.3
26 September 2026
- Improved "Send a test" in Settings → Notifications now waits about 10 seconds, so you can close the app or lock your phone first. iPhones don't show notifications while the app is open.
Version 0.12.2
26 September 2026
- New When you first open the installed app on your phone, it offers to turn on notifications. Tap "Not now" and it won't ask again on that device; you can always turn them on in Settings.
Version 0.12.1
26 September 2026
- Fixed Notifications are now actually sent. In 0.12.0 they were set up correctly but never left the server, so "Send a test" did nothing.
- Improved While a pop-up is open, the page behind it no longer scrolls.
Version 0.12.0
26 September 2026
- New Notifications: get told when your notes are ready, a check-in is due, someone comments on your post, or the moderators need to tell you something. You can also choose a daily practice reminder. Choose which ones you want, set quiet hours, and add each device you use. On iPhone and iPad, add the app to your home screen first.
- New The app icon shows a number for new comments on your posts and unread messages from the moderators.
- Improved Settings is now a short list. Each part opens in its own window with Save and Cancel buttons, and if you close it without saving, you'll be asked whether to discard your changes. The Back button closes the window.
- Improved Sign out now stops notifications to that device and removes anything this app kept on it.
- Improved Moderators can see notification numbers and a log of what was sent (the type and whether it was delivered, never the text).
- Improved Coach portal: items in a programme can now be moved down as well as up, items that aren't live are marked (people following the programme don't see them), and deleting a video or exercise takes it out of your programmes.
Version 0.11.0
26 September 2026
- New New page: "How Voice Training is built", covering what it runs on, the open-source voice analysis, the AI models (all running locally), how your data is protected, and what it doesn't use. Linked from the privacy policy.
Version 0.10.9
26 September 2026
- Fixed iPhone and iPad, when installed on the home screen: the menu at the bottom no longer floats too high above the edge of the screen.
Version 0.10.8
26 September 2026
- Improved Privacy policy: a new "Who can see what" section explains exactly what moderators and the site owner can and can't see. In short: nobody else can see or hear your practice, only what you choose to share.
- Improved Unlisted posts are now truly only for people with the link: moderators no longer see them unless someone reports them.
Version 0.10.7
26 September 2026
- New New "About the creator" page: who made Voice Training and why. You'll find it in the footer, on the home page and in Settings next to the version number.
- Improved The footer sits closer to the line above it and has more room at the bottom of the page.
Version 0.10.6
26 September 2026
- Improved On phones, the footer is tidier: the copyright on one line, then "About the creator" and "Contact", then "Privacy", "Terms" and "Changelog".
Version 0.10.5
26 September 2026
- Improved The home page, shared voices, moderation and the coach portal now show your photo and name at the top right, the same as in the app (instead of "Ferlin (me)" or just an email).
- Fixed The name at the top right of the moderation and coach portal pages was out of alignment.
- Improved Coach portal: adding a YouTube video, creating your own exercise and creating a programme are now three separate, clearly explained choices. A programme can only be created once you've published a video or exercise to put in it.
- Improved Coach portal: the page for people who aren't coaches yet now looks like the rest of the app, explains what coaches can do, and has the application right there.
- Fixed Web address boxes (for example the YouTube link and coaches' links) now look like the other boxes.
Version 0.10.4
26 September 2026
- Improved Pitch now shows the musical note and octave next to Hz everywhere: live pitch, results, comparisons, progress, history, favourites, your target range in Settings, shared posts and suggestions (for example "182 Hz · F♯3"; middle C is C4).
- Improved Pitch charts now have their lines on real notes (C, E and G of each octave), labelled with the note and Hz, so you can read notes straight off the chart.
Version 0.10.3
26 September 2026
- Improved Transcripts and session notes (including AI notes) are now encrypted with your account's own key, like your recordings. Only you can see them in the app, and deleting your account makes them unreadable. Existing ones were encrypted automatically.
- Improved Privacy policy: explains what's encrypted.
Version 0.10.2
26 September 2026
- Improved A friendlier "page not found" page: it explains why a link might not work and links to the home page, shared voices and the app, with the usual menu and footer. The same for shared posts that are no longer available.
- New Moderators: the People tab now lists everyone who has signed up, newest first, with when they joined and were last active. Filter by banned or suspended, coaches, or 13–17; search still works.
Version 0.10.1
25 September 2026
- Fixed If you finished a session while recordings were still being analysed, it never got its "Notes on this session". The notes now appear as soon as the analysis is done (and AI notes are still written if you've turned them on).
- Fixed Deleting your account now also clears recordings still waiting to upload on that device, and the app's settings saved on it, so nothing carries over to a new account.
- Fixed Recordings waiting to upload on a shared device only upload to the account that made them. If someone else signs in, they're told and can discard them.
- Improved The account deletion screen now lists everything that's removed (including shared posts, comments, AI notes and coach content) and explains that backups keep data for up to 8 weeks.
- Improved The moderation page now tells you which email you're signed in with if it isn't a moderator account, with a button to sign out and switch.
- Fixed The website could go briefly offline after a restart of the server. It now comes back on its own straight away.
Version 0.10.0
25 September 2026
- New Nightly backups: everything is backed up every night to a separate drive, encrypted, and kept for up to 8 weeks. A restore is tested regularly to make sure backups actually work.
- New Settings → Keeping your recordings now shows how much of your recording space you're using. At 80% or more, the Practice page suggests freeing some up (your numbers and charts are always kept).
- Improved If a recording can't be saved right away because storage is full or temporarily unavailable, it stays safely on your device, the app tells you why, and it keeps trying.
- Improved Moderators: the System tab shows recording storage against its limit (with a warning at 80%) and when the last backup ran.
- Improved Privacy policy: explains backups and how long deleted data can remain in them (up to 8 weeks).
- Improved The home page now describes exercises, measurements, optional AI notes and the coaches' library in plain words, including what each one can't do.
- Fixed If an account that had been banned or suspended was deleted and created again, the restriction no longer disappears.
Version 0.9.0
25 September 2026
- New Learn from coaches: a new library of videos, exercises and programmes from independent voice coaches. Find it on the Practice page ("Learn from coaches") or at Library. Filter by topic (for example resonance R1 or R2), kind and level.
- New Suggestions from coaches: based on what your recordings show, the app suggests coaches' videos and exercises, jumping straight to the right part of a video. The AI coach can suggest them too.
- New Coach exercises can include the coach's own reference recording: listen, record, and see how close your pitch is to theirs.
- New Programmes: follow a coach's step-by-step programme and tick items off as you go.
- New Every coach item shows the coach's business profile and links. Mark items as useful, "not for me" or "wrong topic", or hide a coach you don't want to see.
- New Become a coach: apply in Settings → Coaching, or at /coaching. Approved coaches get a coach portal to write their business profile, add YouTube videos, exercises and programmes, tag them, and see which topics people need most.
- New YouTube videos load only when you press play, in privacy-enhanced mode.
- New Moderators: new Coaches and Library tabs to approve or reject coaches, make someone a coach directly, mark coaches as verified, check new coaches' first items, and re-tag items people reported as the wrong topic (the coach is told what changed and why).
- Improved Moderators: "address" is now called "default slug" everywhere on the moderation page.
- Improved Updated terms (coaches, AI features) and privacy policy (AI features, coaches and YouTube).
Version 0.8.1
25 September 2026
- Improved Transcripts now run on the Mac's Neural Engine, using about a tenth of the memory, so the AI can work more often without slowing anything else down. They're also better with local words (for example "makan" and "kopitiam").
- Fixed Transcripts could fail when the AI worker was started from the menu bar item.
Version 0.8.0
25 September 2026
- New AI Coaching (optional, off by default): turn it on in Settings → AI features. After you finish a session, you get short notes written by a small AI model from your own measurements and ratings, plus up to two suggested next exercises. Everything runs privately on the Voice Training server itself; nothing goes to an outside AI service.
- New Every finished session now shows "Notes on this session" straight away, even without AI: a short summary of what changed and what you might try next. With AI coaching on, the AI-written version replaces it when it's ready, and you can say whether it helped.
- New Transcripts (optional): turn on "Transcribe my speech recordings" to see the words you said under each sentence, passage or free-speech recording, and correct them if needed.
- Improved The AI only uses facts from your own recordings and only suggests exercises from the app. Notes that include numbers it wasn't given, or anything like a diagnosis or a "how feminine/masculine" score, are thrown away.
- Improved Moderators: the System tab shows the AI worker's status and which AI models it uses.
Version 0.7.1
25 September 2026
- Fixed The selected tab (for example “System” on the moderation page, or “Resonance & quality” in Progress) was hard to read in dark mode. It's clear again.
Version 0.7.0
25 September 2026
- New Resonance & quality: a new view under Progress. A vowel chart shows your “ahh”, “eee” and “ooo” when you started and now; R1, R2 and overall resonance show how much they've changed; plus trends over time. Everything is compared with your own starting voice only, and marked experimental.
- New Vocal weight (experimental): rough hints from your held vowels over time, and a new “lighter ↔ fuller” rating in weight practice.
- New Intonation & speech patterns: how your melody, pauses and loudness variation in the passage compare with when you started.
- New Spectrograms: open “Advanced view” under any recording to see its spectrogram, with your measured resonances drawn on held vowels. In resonance practice, a live spectrogram shows your voice as you speak, marking where your starting “eee” brightness was.
- New Live pitch in semitones: during recording, switch between Hz and semitones from your starting voice.
- New Choose the direction you're exploring (feminising, masculinising, androgynous or just exploring) in Settings. Resonance suggestions follow your own changes in that direction.
- Improved Your recordings are re-analysed in the background to add the new measures. Your CSV download includes them too.
Version 0.6.0
25 September 2026
- New Exercises: 12 short, gentle exercises for warming up, pitch, resonance, vocal weight, intonation and everyday speech. Each one has steps, what you might notice, and when to stop. Open them from "All exercises" on the Practice page.
- New "Suggested for you" and "Next steps": up to two exercises picked from your own recordings, ratings and goals, each with the reason why. Mark an exercise "not for me" and it won't be suggested again.
- New Rate each recording for strain and how happy you are with it, as well as comfort and effort. If a recording felt straining or uncomfortable, the app suggests stopping and resting for the rest of the day.
- New A session timer and a gentle reminder to take a break (after 20 minutes by default; change it or turn it off in Settings).
- New Save recordings you like as favourites, then imitate them: listen, record the same prompt, and see how close your pitch level and pitch shape were.
- New Practise without keeping the audio: turn off "Keep the audio from this session" and only the numbers are saved.
- Improved Starting a session now shows when you last practised each focus. Your goals are highlighted (with a "Due" tag if it's been a week or more), and the other focuses are still there to try.
- Improved Your CSV download now includes strain, satisfaction and which exercise each recording was for.
Version 0.5.2
25 September 2026
- New Moderators: a new System tab shows how many recordings were processed (today, last 7 and 30 days, all time) and how much audio that was, a 14-day chart, how long processing takes, the queue right now, and storage.
- New Moderators: the System tab also shows whether every part of the app is working: the website, the app server, the database, audio processing (or paused), and the data drive.
- Improved Moderators: the Log tab is now an easy-to-read table of every moderator action, with its reference, the person, the reason and who did it.
Version 0.5.1
25 September 2026
- New When your recording has to wait its turn to be analysed, you now see your place in the queue, roughly how long the wait is, and a countdown until your results are ready. If there's no wait, you'll just see "Analysing…" as before.
- New The same for posts being prepared in My posts, and a "ready in about…" note on the Practice page.
- Improved If processing is paused for maintenance, you're told that your recording is saved safely and will be analysed when it resumes.
Version 0.5.0
25 September 2026
- New Share a "then & now": pick two recordings of the same prompt in Progress → Listen & compare, trim each to up to 15 seconds, and share them side by side with how much your pitch changed (in semitones, in Hz, or no numbers).
- New Share your progress chart: your pitch over time for one prompt, as a picture with no audio. Choose Hz, semitones or just the shape, and whether to show your target range.
- New Milestones: your first session, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 250 sessions, 4 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months and a year since you started, and check-ins. A card on the Practice page lets you share a new one, or share any from My posts.
- Improved My posts shows each kind of post: both clips of a then & now, the prompt of a progress chart, and the milestone.
- Improved Link previews for the new posts have their own pictures, titles and descriptions.
Version 0.4.3
25 September 2026
- Improved On Shared voices and on people's pages you can now heart and comment right under each post. Tap 💬 to open the comments inside the post, no need to open it separately.
- Improved The "Open" link on posts is gone. Tap the date to go to a post, or 🔗 to copy or share its link.
- Improved You can report a post from the feed too: it's under the post's comments.
Version 0.4.2
25 September 2026
- Improved Tidier menu at the top of the home page and shared-voices pages on phones: everything fits on one line, the logo stands in for the name, and your name shows in a compact button (long names are shortened).
Version 0.4.1
25 September 2026
- Improved New look for the menu at the bottom of the screen on phones: a floating, see-through bar with rounded corners, a soft blue-and-pink highlight on the page you're on, and slightly larger icons.
Version 0.4.0
25 September 2026
- New Heart the posts you like. Only the person who shared a post can see how many hearts it has.
- New Comment on posts. Comments are private: only the person who shared the post can read them (you can always see your own). Everyone can see how many comments a post has.
- New "Block & report" on comments under your posts: that person can no longer heart or comment on your posts, their comments are hidden, and moderators take a look. They aren't told.
- New New "Blocked people" section in Settings, where you can unblock anyone you've blocked. Only you can unblock them.
- New Report a post or a profile from its page. It's hidden for you straight away. Serious reports pause that account's sharing until a moderator has reviewed it.
- New Turn comments on or off for each of your posts, from the post's page.
- New Messages from moderators: if a moderator warns you, removes a post or limits your account, a message appears with a reference number and a ready-to-copy appeal template. After you tap "Noted", a warning stays as a banner at the top of every page for 7 days.
- New My posts shows "A moderator removed this post", with the reason, the reference number and a button to copy an appeal template.
- New A moderation page for the moderators.
- Improved Post cards now show how many comments a post has.
- Improved Under 18: you can heart posts, commenting is available from age 18, and nobody can comment on your posts.
Version 0.3.4
25 September 2026
- Fixed On phones, the website's top bar now shows a "Shared voices" link. Before, there was no way to reach it from the home page on a phone.
- Improved The "Privacy" link has been removed from the website's top bar on computers. It's still at the bottom of every page.
- Improved On very narrow phones, the website's top bar shows just the logo (without the words "Voice Training") to make room for the links.
Version 0.3.3
25 September 2026
- Fixed On public profile pages, the name, @name and bio no longer have large gaps between them.
Version 0.3.2
25 September 2026
- Improved The "Shared voices" card has been removed from the Practice page, now that Posts has its own tab.
- Improved My posts now has an "Open the Shared voices feed" button.
Version 0.3.1
25 September 2026
- Improved The "Home" tab is now called "Practice", with a microphone icon. It's still where you start a session.
- Improved A new "Posts" tab (speech-bubble icon) takes you straight to My posts. It replaces the old Practice tab, on both phones and computers.
- New If you left a practice session unfinished (in the last 7 days), the Practice page now shows "Continue your session" so you can pick up where you left off, or finish it.
- Improved "Start a session" on the Practice page is now called "Start a new session".
- Fixed On phones, your name and picture at the top of the app now sit on the right-hand side, instead of in the middle.
Version 0.3.0
25 September 2026
- New Share a short clip (1 to 30 seconds) from any of your recordings. Trim it on a waveform, add a caption and how you're feeling, and choose who can see it: unlisted (only people with the link), anonymous, or public.
- New New "My posts" page: see everything you've shared, change who can see each post, copy or share its link, and delete one post or all of them.
- New New "Shared voices" page where anyone can listen to clips people have shared publicly or anonymously.
- New Your own public page, showing your public posts with your name, picture and a short bio.
- New New "Sharing" section in Settings: your default address (it always works), an optional custom public name, and a short bio. You're warned before changing a name, because the old one stops working and others can take it.
- New Shared links now show a preview card when posted on WhatsApp, Telegram, X and similar apps, with a different card for posts, profiles and the Shared voices page. The home page has its own preview card too.
- Improved A "Share a clip…" button now appears under each recording's results.
- Improved The Home page has a new "Shared voices" card with links to My posts and the feed.
- Improved The website's menu and a new section on the home page link to Shared voices.
- Improved For people under 18, posts can only be shared by private link, and only signed-in people can see them.
Version 0.2.2
25 September 2026
- Fixed Recordings of held vowels ("ahh", "eee", "ooo") were often wrongly marked as having too much background noise. The noise check now uses the room noise measured by the microphone check at the start.
Version 0.2.1
25 September 2026
- Fixed On phones, the text on the Privacy, Terms and Changelog pages no longer touches the edges of the screen.
Version 0.2.0
25 September 2026
- New Settings now shows which version of Voice Training you're using.
- New A "What's new" window in Settings lists the latest changes, with a link to the full changelog page.
- New New public changelog page listing every change to Voice Training.
Version 0.1.1
25 September 2026
- Fixed Adding a profile photo now works on all phones. Before, every photo showed "This browser can't open that picture".
- Improved You can now use more kinds of photos for your profile picture, including iPhone and OPPO "high efficiency" (HEIC) photos, and very large photos from high-resolution cameras.
Version 0.1.0
25 September 2026
- New The Voice Training app and website are created.
